WHITIN WALLS Demolition In Progress (CD)
11/05/2011 | Graced by what I would define really impressive artwork / back cover and layouts the new full-length record from Austria’s WITHIN WALLS is out on Cobra records and Final Exit record.DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS moves on the lines of some 90’s hardcore driven by heavy metallic guitars and a desperate voice screaming his lungs out.
According to label press-info their sound should represent the new-school of hardcore but in my view their much more anchored in the 90’s thanks also to a raw and almost live production. And this somehow difference their proposal making it more true and fresh.
There is some thrashy feel to some of the songs and it really works for them. They can go fast and aggressive or slow and menacing.
On “Released On Parole” things gets more reflexing and tense with a voice more recitative and spoken words in the background.
