THE SNOWFALL Weight Less (CD)

06/16/2010 | This foursome from Vicenza, north Italy, features ex-members of two 90’s straightedge combos named Think Twice and Thought To Share, but does not play 80’s Youth Of Today influenced straightedge HC. “WEIGHT LESS”, their debut released last year on Youth Crew records, delivers 9 tracks of pretty personal modern melodic rock mixed with some hardcore charged of a strong emo-ish feel much in the vein of Washington D.C.’s forefathers Dag Nasty. As you may understand you won’t find any of hardcore frenzy here but most of their proposal is all about slow-paced, simple but vigorous guitars alternates to more melodic hooks and airy moments (some keyboards and sinths kick in as well).
Personal lyrics about everyday struggles with touches of poetry, which at times hurls abstractions at his listeners.
“Senseless”, “Snowfall” and the closing “Nine To Five” are my favourites of the lot.
Give this record a try and let you take the time to sink in it.
